Diet drinks and obesity... Oh the controversy šŸ™€

It fascinates me how contradictory the world we live in can be and how hung up people become over the smaller things in life!

Sure in a perfect world we would all eat organic šŸŒ± milk our own cows šŸ®and bake our own bread šŸ„– (mmm, bread šŸ¤¤) but unfortunately for most this just isnā€™t the world we live in.

Now I certainly do not posses all the scientific facts regarding the effect diet products and artificial sugars have on our bodies, but what I do know is that when it comes to obesity, diet drinks are the least of our worries when in relation to ā€˜unhealthyā€™ habits.

In a world where sedentary lifestyles, fast-food šŸŸ and alcohol are mainstream, the focus should be on improving activity levels and changing our drive-thru habits, not (at least in the initial stages) what consuming artificial sugars may do to our insides in the long term; because frankly, sitting on our arses, sipping on a red whilst eating our Uber eats will have a far greater impact on our health in the short term, that one might not even get the chance to live long enough for the affects of diet products to take hold!

So for all those out there drinking 12 cups of green tea a day, forbidding diet products and avoiding anything that isnā€™t labeled ā€˜organicā€™ šŸ™…šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø I encourage you to focus on the basics first. Think simple and be consistent. Once you have mastered the fundamentals of a healthy lifestyle then progression can be made to the 1%ā€™ers.
